Poplar Bluff R‑1 is renewing its partnership with ATG‑RamTurf to bring a safer, upgraded turf field to its students and community.
Poplar Bluff, MO — The Poplar Bluff R‑1 School District has chosen ATG‑RamTurf Industries, LLC to replace the high school football field turf, marking a renewed partnership focused on student safety, long‑term performance, and responsible financial planning.
After a decade of heavy use, the district determined that the existing turf system had reached the end of its intended lifespan. Increasing maintenance needs and more frequent repairs signaled the need for a full replacement to ensure a safe, consistent playing surface for student‑athletes across multiple programs.
Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance Charles Kinsey said the decision reflects both safety priorities and careful stewardship of public resources.
The Poplar Bluff R‑1 School Board and Administration approved the replacement of the high school football field turf after ten years of use to ensure student safety and responsible stewardship of public funds. As the field required increasingly frequent repairs, the time had come for a full replacement. Funds were set aside to help offset the cost and position the district well for the next decade of use. We're excited to launch the new field and to introduce in-field advertising that will help fund future replacements. Selecting ATG, the original installer, allows us to maintain a top-tier athletic surface and provide our student-athletes with a safe, comfortable, and high-quality playing experience.
ATG‑RamTurf originally installed the district’s turf system and brings decades of experience delivering high‑performance athletic surfaces across Missouri and the Midwest. The company’s turnkey approach ensures a streamlined process from removal to installation, with a single team overseeing every phase of the project.
The new field will feature updated safety and performance technology, refreshed branding, and integrated in‑field advertising designed to support future replacement cycles. Construction is scheduled to begin soon, with completion planned ahead of upcoming athletic seasons.
